Why should we consider celebrating Teachers' day on January 3rd instead of 5th September.

Why should we consider celebrating Teachers' Day on January 3rd instead of September 5th?

When Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was Vice President in 1954 he got Bharat Ratna from his President. When he become President of India then he told that instead of celebrating my birthday, it would be my proud privilege if 5th September is observed as Teachers' day. Even he sent his name 26th times for the Noble Prize.

Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan writes in his book 'The Hindu Way of Life', I will quote him here. " The four castes represent men of thought, men of action, men of feeling and others in whom none of these is highly developed."

"It is a point of social honour for every member to marry within his own caste. While every attempt  should be made to energise the weak and the lowly by education and moral suasion, indiscriminate marriage relations do not seem to be always desirable...If a member of a first-class family marries another of poor antecedents the good inheritance of the other, with the result that child starts life with heavy handicap." This was his thought and we are proudly celebrating teachers' day in his name.

In January 1929, one Jadunath Sinha, then a little known young Lecturer of Philosophy in the Meerut College, having a brilliant academic track record, created a sensation in the literary world by accusing Dr. Radhakrishnan of plagiarizing extensively from the first two parts of his thesis titled 'Indian Psychology of Perception, Vol I & II, which were submitted by him to the Calcutta University ( CU) for the coveted Premchand Roychand Studentship (PRS) of 1922, he submitted Vol. II of the thesis in 1923. The piracy has been made from these two parts of his thesis. ( Round Table India, 2016).

Teachers' day should be celebrate on 3rd January, the birthday of Savitribai Phule and the first female teacher of India. Savitribai and Fatima Sheikh deserve this honor. They opened the first school for girls in 1848 at Bhide Wada in Pune and taught the girl child but it was not an easy task to educate girls at that time they faces many difficulties and mostly from upper caste society. Upper caste people used to  throw cowdung and stone to Savitribai when she were on the way to school. So she used to bring two Sarees in her bag and after reaching the school she used to change her clothes. She did all these selflessly to uphold the girls child without taking a single penny. On the other hand casteist, patriarch and thesis theif Radhakrishnan was a government teacher he was paid for his job later he became President of India and he wished to celebrate his birthday as teachers' day and we are celebrating. He observed that women and men are equal but they have different domains, hence women's education should be such that she becomes an ideal mother and ideal housewife.

He observed that Manusmriti is basically a religious text, a compilation of moral values, and that is re-established the glory of customs and traditions at a time when they were being undermined. Acquisition of knowledge is the duty of the Brahman, Kshartiya must protect the weak, business and agriculture is the responsibility of the Vaishya, and Shudra is duty bound to serve others . It's a national shame and ignorance that we are celebrating teachers' day in the name of Radhakrishnan. According to facts and data Radhakrishnan was a casteist, patriarch, plagiarised and stole his students thesis and published in his own name. Starts celebrating teachers's day on 3rd January, the birthday of Savitribai Phule.
