Why should we consider celebrating Teachers' day on January 3rd instead of 5th September.

Why should we consider celebrating Teachers' Day on January 3rd instead of September 5th? When Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was Vice President in 1954 he got Bharat Ratna from his President. When he become President of India then he told that instead of celebrating my birthday, it would be my proud privilege if 5th September is observed as Teachers' day. Even he sent his name 26th times for the Noble Prize. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan writes in his book 'The Hindu Way of Life', I will quote him here. " The four castes represent men of thought, men of action, men of feeling and others in whom none of these is highly developed."  "It is a point of social honour for every member to marry within his own caste. While every attempt  should be made to energise the weak and the lowly by education and moral suasion, indiscriminate marriage relations do not seem to be always desirable...If a member of a first-class family marries another of poor antecedents the good inher

SC status to Pasmanda Muslims and Dalit Christians and existing Scheduled Caste.

Before I start giving my opinion on the issue of reservations for Pasmanda Muslims and Dalit Christians, I want to recall a Lok Sabha debate where MP and leader of the AIMIM party, Asaduddin Owaisi, was advocating for a law similar to the SC/ST Prevention Act of 1989 for the Muslim community in India. According to him, every day Muslims in India have to listen to statements like "They are Pakistani" or "They are traitors," and this is not false at all. I have seen people saying similar things to my Christian friends, accusing them of being "agents of America" in India. These communities also deserve a respectful life in this democratic nation. I have full solidarity with the government in enacting any law that promotes their social dignity. I am aware that there is a significant socio-economic gap between Ashraf Muslims and Pasmanda Muslims. There should be a solution for them too, but obviously not at the cost of us (SC/ST). The concept of "Pasmanda&

Child Marriage And It's Socio-Economic And Political Perspectives In The State Of Assam.

Image
On January 23, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had announced that the state government will launch a drive against child marriage and will book men marrying girls below 14 years of age under the protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, and those marrying girls aged 14-18 under Prohibition of Child Marriage Act. Altogether 2441 people have been arrested since the drive against child marriage was launched in Assam on February 2, Assam Chief Minister said on February 6. Recent crackdown on people who were involved in child marriage by the  government of Assam is something where we need to look back to some socio-economic and political perspectives. There is no doubt that child marriage is a social evil and no one should promote this it is also prohibited by law in India. According to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data of 2020, a total of 785 cases were registered under the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act. The number of cases registered were the highest

University of Hyderabad Students' Union Elections 2023(UoHSU) and my experience.

Ambedkar Students' Association (ASA)-UoH is not an organization, it's a Social Movement. When Mondal commission was going to implement for OBCs we have seen a tremendous protest from Brahminical forces against the implementation of Mondal commission the countries capital was occupied by them where students from mainly DU was leading the Brahminical forces and when Tsunduru Massacre was going on against Dalit at that juncture our Dalit-Bahujan scholars from UoH came up with Ambedkar Students' Association (ASA) as an autonomous students organization to assert our own  identity who were deprived in the Brahminical society for thousands of years. For a long time, a gaze of criminalisation has been fixed on Dalit-Bahujan people, always suspected for criminality and disorder. But from the day of University General Body Meeting (UGBM) to declaration of elections result, the students of ASA exposed the falsity and prejudice inherent in the gaze, by maintaing perfect discipline and

Kancha Ilaiah on how caste works in riots.

Image
During the Babri Mosque demolition, the jail records show that hardly any upper caste youths have gone to jail in riot cases and that most undertrials were/are OBCs and Muslims. For example the Ram Janambhumi movement, the OBCs are treated as Hindus; but when it comes to the question of modernizing them they are the 'others'. By keeping OBC youth uneducated and unemployed, a lumpen reserve army remains readily available for use by the Hindutva forces. OBC children are being admitted into Saraswati Shisu Mandirs mostly to train them as Hindu militants. The children of top Sangh Parivar and BJP leaders get good English education to become future NRIs. As Hinduism did not allow Dalits to enter temples, they began to move towards Islam, Christianity and Buddhism. If the secularists and the communists do not allow the OBCs to grow in their organizations Modi will become their national leader and their Prime Ministerial candidate too. And in such situation, feeble OBC voi

Caste, Class and the question of Reservation.

Image
Class doesn't exist in India it is replaced by Caste.Caste is a Brahmin question, it's not a Dalit-Bahujan questions. Annihilation of caste is only possible by Brahmins not by others because they are the owner's of the caste.Basically discrimination happens on the basis of caste in India. No matter how much rich or powerful a Dalit-Bahujan is he/she have to face caste discrimination in his/her life as an example the President of India Ramnath Kovind was insulted in a Temple in Puri, Odisha because of his caste identity.  Forget about other Dalit-Bahujan people. A 9th failed Baman can insult a well educated Dali-Bahujan because of his caste identity. Affirmative action is not a poverty alleviation programme, it's about representation. If any person is poor then question your government, demand proper scheme of poverty alleviation, the person is poor because of the ignorance of the state. Discrimination happens in the name of caste so reservation wi

Why Teachers' Day should be celebrate on 3rd January, not 5th September.

Image
Teacher's day should be celebrate on 3rd January, the birthday of Savitribai Phule and the first female teacher of India. Savitribai and Fatima Sheikh deserve this honor. They opened the first school for girls in 1848 at Bhide Wada in Pune and taught the girl child but it was not an easy task to educate girls child at that time they faces many difficulties and mostly from forward caste society.Forward caste people used to throw cowdung and stones to Savrtrimai when she were on the way to school. So she used to bring two Sarees in her bag and after reaching the school she used to change her clothes. She did all these selflessly to uphold the girls child without taking a single penny. On the other hand casteist, patriarch and thesis thief Radhakrishnan was a government teacher he was paid for his job later he became President of India & he wished to celebrate his birthday as teachers day and we are celebrating. He observed that women and men are equal but they have dif
